Block Shop Brings Its Hand-Printed Aesthetic Outdoors With Sunbrella<\/h1>\n\n\n

Los Angeles textile studio Block Shop<\/a>, founded by sisters Hopie Stockman Hill and Grier Stockman, collaborates with Sunbrella<\/a> on a collection woven in the latter\u2019s Anderson, South Carolina, facility. The range, Block Shop\u2019s first line of performance fabrics, brings the sisters\u2019 hand-printed aesthetic to indoor\/outdoor acrylic textiles that offer cleanability, durability, and resistance to mildew, mold, and color fading. The collection, Hollyhock, is named for\u2014and informed by\u2014the 1919 Frank Lloyd Wright house in Los Angeles that\u2019s replete with blocky geometries and floral motifs. Those contrasting patterns are translated into 12 fresh designs, including Jetty\u2019s wavelike repeat; Key\u2019s checkered riff on a Greek Key motif; wiggly Verdugo, after the mountain range; and Lollipop, an homage to Wayne Thiebaud\u2019s paintings of the candy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
